RAM International Inc.

Bhabesh C. Dash (“BC”) obtained his B.A. from the Ravenshaw College, Utkal University, India and completed his graduate studies in International Management from the Centre d′Etudes Industrielles, University of Geneva, Switzerland (now IMD International located in Lausanne, Switzerland). He successfully participated in several post professional training programs in Marketing, Financial Management, International Marketing Strategies, Staff Training & Motivation, Total Quality Improvement, Materials Management etc.

BC joined Indian Aluminium Company Ltd., Calcutta, then a subsidiary of ALCAN (Aluminium Company of Canada Ltd.), and soon headed their Foil Sales Division. He developed markets for foil products achieving growth of 1200% in five years and introduced innovative packaging to Indian pharmaceutical, tea, tobacco, dairy and food industries.

He participated in corporate expansion programs, new project development, negotiations with governmental agencies for power, land, water, housing, equipment imports etc., related to new facilities such as smelters, rolling mills, extrusion plants etc. He completed training and marketing research assignments with affiliate companies in England and Europe.

Moving to the USA in 1970, BC founded RAM International Inc., to explore international marketing and joint venture opportunities particularly in India. While waiting for economic conditions and monetary regulations in India to become favorable, he obtained over a period of ten years, valuable experience in management of health care facilities in Chicago, IL. He was Mental Health Administrator for Management and Budget for all the State of Illinois Mental Health Institutions located in the greater Chicago area (about 70% of the State’s MH workload).

This assignment was followed by the financial management of the research division of a major State university where, as Assistant Vice-Chancellor, he had fiscal oversight of fifteen multi-disciplinary research centers and supported their research programs launched in collaboration with industry. He also accumulated considerable experience in the management of change, down-sizing and turnaround.

As President, he re-positioned Ionic Industries, Inc. Elk Grove, Illinois, (manufacturers of electronic PC boards,) with growth of 300% which led to profitable divestiture by the owners. He was associated with several environmental engineering and waste water treatment companies in the USA and Canada. He helped found and partner an enterprise engaged in the recovery of waste oil, valuable solvents and chemicals.

Currently, as President of RAM International Inc. he is coordinating international joint ventures for U. S. technology companies.

B.C. has been a dedicated Rotarian and his family has a long history in Rotary.

Meet the Team

Sashi Dash

Shashi Dash is an independent Corporate Advisor and mentor to young and aspiring companies helping establish and growing their businesses in Asia including in India.

Shashi has  45+ years of successful marketing experience and has spent over 20 years in multinational and multi-cultural corporations. Recently, he helped a research-based company of herbal supplements in its growth in India and internationally.

He is currently working on an assignment  introducing a high-end designer luggage brand from Italy to India and Southeast Asia.

In the immediate past, he was the President of Samsonite Asia-Pacific, working from start-up to building the brand across Asia. During his tenure of over 12 years, Samsonite’s growth in Asia-Pacific region was exponential, from $18 million to over $250 million, with a highly profitable track record.

During this time, Shashi was a Member of the Management Board of Samsonite Corporation, a Director and Board Member of Samsonite South Asia, Representative Director of Samsonite Japan and Executive Director of all other Samsonite affiliates in Asia.

Having built brands like VIP, Aristocrat and Samsonite (all household names in India and abroad) he is  known as the Luggage Man of India. He was once hailed by India’s Business World magazine as one of the Top 10 marketing hot-shots in India.

Shashi has worked in developing markets for home electronics and appliances, molded toys and furniture, poly-vinyl leather, luggage and travel goods.

He has also been a Visiting Faculty member at leading Universities and Institutes.

Ted Corvette

Ted Corvette has a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Delaware and a Juris Doctor from The Duke University School of Law.  Ted has spent the last 35 years working as outside counsel, in-house counsel and as an entrepreneur creatively solving problems with business leaders in fields as diverse as biotechnology, chemical engineering, construction, healthcare, financial services and software development.

During the 1970’s and ‘80’s, while practicing law in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park area Ted assisted clients in forming, financing and operating more than two dozen computer software and services companies.

During the 1990’s, while living in Seattle, Washington, Ted served as VP and General Counsel at Raima Corporation, a database management company, and as VP and General Counsel for Boulevard Corporation, a Seattle software company he helped found to develop a database migration system from mainframes to client server systems.  Ted was General Counsel at Saros Corporation, the worldwide industry leader in document management software, when Saros was sold to FileNet Corporation for 123 million dollars.

After moving back to the East Coast in 1998 Ted was a partner in two of the Southeast’s largest law firms, Moore & Van Allen and Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough.

Ted has vast experience in the identification, development, protection and exploitation of intellectual property assets in the United States and internationally.  He has helped dozens of management teams design revenue models, protect intellectual property assets, build licensing systems and negotiate strategic transactions.

Krish Rangaswamy

Krish Rangaswamy is a Mechanical Engineer with over 40 years of experience and very special skills in design of heavy equipment. He holds several patents and has served in senior management positions in major industries both in the USA and in India. For many years he owned and operated an engineering Company designing mobile and rolling mill equipment.

He has worked for Raytheon, USA designing equipment for steel working. He then accepted an assignment with Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) of Detroit, MI to install a Nickel Hydride factory in China.

He is currently a part-owner and Chief of Design of an engineering Company in India that manufactures hydraulic axles for super heavy transportation vehicles. He contributes his unique talents in management of manufacturing operations to assist RAM clients.
